It's been nearly a year since we had any new Peter Wheats

I love this little series. And it is a great book to use as a test for our new automatic comments poster

All mostly thanks to otherEric. He is always on the lookout for missing issues. If anyone finds any let him know.

Not being a collector, I think that the Peter Wheats are the ones that tempt me most. Would be great to have the whole of the title.

Trust me, if Eric can do it he will!
Unfortunately his scans have increased the demand for these giveaways and he's hurt his own cause considerably by sharing them.

I really need to drop back in here more often.

I've been looking like crazy for any more Peter Wheats, but the price tags have gone WAY up since I started.  It seems like most unscanned issues in any grade go for over 100, and even scanned issues (where I'm out of the bidding) are up there.  And very, very few have show up in the first place; I've missed a couple in the past year- but only a couple.

With that said, somebody did sell a collection of scans via DVD on eBay several months ago.  The downside is they're poor quality PDF's, the upside is they had all the Kelly issues I was missing and many of the Hubbard.  They've stopped selling it, though; but I may break down and see what I can do to create readable files from them.  I'm VERY hesitant to borrow somebody else's material like that, though.

Once extracted from the PDF file you can do wonders with the individual images. I'ev had pretty good sucess with that sort of thing. Ask Paw. I did one of his uploads. Give it a shot.

And for the first time in far too long, I was able to get my hands on another issue we need.  #18 is now uploaded.

Hi Eric!

Once I spotted this it was approved in about 0.0000000000000000000001 of a second! I really like the Peter Wheats and a new one has been a long time coming.
