Title: Target Question.
Post by: phabox on September 22, 2008, 11:53:57 AM
Going through a stack of old British Black and White Reprint Comics that i'm about to dispose off I was surprised to find a Novelty Publication's story hidden away between all the old Charlton, Atlas and ACG fare which was this companies normal stock in trade.

I'd hate to get rid of this book before scanning this story if its not yet accounted for so first thing to do is to try and ID where it first appeared.

its a six page Target and the Targeteers Advenure, all three main characters are seen in costume and most of the action centres around an Aqua Show.

Apart from the three regulars the other main characters in this story are Tina, the guys 'secretary' ( oh yeah ?) and Herb Brooks the shows owner.

Does this story ring any bells with anyone here ?

Hmm, could you upload the first page to ImageShack Nigel and post a link here?

Even after posting this story to my Yahoo Group its origin STILL remains a mystery however maybe we've been looking in the WRONG place for the answer.

The Target not only appeared in his own titled book but ALSO '4Most Comics' maybe that series was the source of this story ?

I shall check Nigel, it wasn't in any of the Targets we have but OtherEric is scanning that series from JVJ so we might still get to see the original one day....

The story is in Target vol. 9, #5 (July 1948), Nigel.
There's a big sign in panel two that says "Herb Brooks's Aqua Show", so I'm pretty certain this is the one you're looking for.
