Title: Re: Captain Hadacol 2

If the date on this is right, this book was published the same year that Hadacol's parent company collapsed under the combined weight of debt and an FTC investigation into misleading advertising. Looking at this, it's pretty easy to see why the FTC brought the hammer down.

Anyone interested in this oddity should check out the Wikipedia history of Hadacol. The stuff was created by Dudley LeBlanc, a Louisiana state senator. It was "popular in 'dry' counties of the southern United States" thanks to its 12% alcohol "preservative." Apparently the collapse of LeBlanc's shady company torpedoed his campaign for Governor of Louisiana.
