Title: Mounties(RCMP) comicsf
Post by: Hawkbrother on July 17, 2018, 10:49:29 PM
I wonder if there are any other comics featuring Royal Canadian Mounted Police(Mounties)  as heroes besides King of the Roysl Mounted and Sergeant Preston of the Yukon. Assume thosr are not public domain as I don't find them here. Checked under Westerns as they seemed to abe sub genre of that,
Dell published those  titles back in the 50s and both werr favorites of mine. Believe  there wad an old movie called King of the Royal Mounted. Sgt. Preston was a TV show though don't recall
watching it.

Hawkbrother, here are some comics I know of with Mountie stories:

The Canadian Robin Hood comic had a continuing Mountie feature:

Quality's Feature Comics had Art Pinajian's "Reynolds of the Mounties." Not sure how long it lasted; here's a typical episode:

And St. John published four issues of Northwest Mounties:

While not public domain, the Canadian Active Comics had Dixon of the Mounted as a regular feature. Scans of the series can be found online at the Library and Archives Canada (http://epe.lac-bac.gc.ca/100/200/301/lac-bac/bell_features_collection-ef/BellFeaturesCollection-findingaid-2016-06-21.pdf).

Another Soloway title featured Dandy McQueen of The Royal Mounted stories, once again drawn by Nat Brand.  Have a look here:-

Thanks! Found Northwest Mounties by visiting the adventure category.
Also just found some old King of the Royal Mounted movies dvds on ebay. The old cliffhanger serials popular way back when. Apparently so much of those old movirs are now public domain and are showing up as new copies reasonably priced.
