Title: Theophano

What I'm actually snuggled up to reading at the moment (It's pouring down with rain here so there's nothing else to do) is Russell Osman's The Thursday Murder Club, which is absolutely brilliant - wryly humorous, tightly-scripted, byzantine plot, great characters. That man Osman is so talented it makes me sick with envy.

The next item on the pile on my bedside table staring at me, longing to be read, is the graphic novel Theophano: A Byzantine Tale by Spyros Theocharis. Sequential art is the perfect way to set stories embedded in the art of their time - it gives you time to linger over each frame. Also, a terrific way to learn a bit of history you may never have touched before.
