On the off chance anyone isn't aware, you can get both back issues and PDFs of this online:

With the demise of CBM and Charlton Spotlight, Alter Ego is the only fan mag I get.

Is Charlton Spotlight really done?

It has come out so sporadically I never know for sure.

On-line version only $3. Thanks for showing me a great new (for me) magazine.

I just bought Alter Ego #101 off a newsstand at the Barnes and Noble in Valparaiso, In.  It's about time.

It's really nice to hear about the book showing up somewhere other than a comic shop!

It's easily my favorite magazine about comics; I'm currently 4 issues short of the complete run.  And I'm not paying hundreds of dollars each for the four issues I'm missing!

Cool!  I hadn't heard about this.  It's been awhile since the last issue so a new one will be very welcome!

Thanks

When did they stop publishing?

CBM ceased publishing in 2005 (after 121 issues) although there was a special edition issue that came out back in 2011.
