Especially, I hope I can meet friends with the same interest in romance genre here. But of course I also want to be friends with everyone here. :-*
-
Welcome. You will find many of the romance comics scanned by narfstar. I used to pick them up on ebay for my mom before she passed away. I got them back and scanned away. I have a few more Chartlon issues coming up
-
Thank you for your scans, narfstar. I'm sorry to hear about your mom. But such a good son you are. I bet it was fun to have mommy who has the same interest. English is not primary language in my country so none of my family member read American comics besides they are not into comics. So I really glad join this forum.
Right now, I'm reading "Just Married" from Charlton at Silver Age section. :)
-
Hello, peedanee. Happy to have you here.
-
Hi, paw broon. Nice to meet you. :)
-
I have just scanned two Romantic Story comics for you Peedanee. I will put them after after they are edited. Hope you enjoy.
-
Thank you narfstar. :D
I'll be happy to read when it's ready.

Romantic Story 90 is now in SA Charlton be sure to check out page 14. Also from Tilliban over at DCM and the JVJ collection is True Love Confessions 4 in GA small press
-
How sweet. :)
I like all the title in True Love Confessions 4, they have similar theme: love endures suffering.
Oh regarding page 14 of Romantic Story 90, it's the page with wigs advertisement right?
-
peedanee, here in the U.K. we had a number of romance comics and storypapers. You might want a look at this site:-

You'll also find, if you scroll down, a comic called Mates and some stories from it. I think there is another link to British titles but I can't find it. I'll keep looking.
-
I put up Romantic Story 62 check page 6. I had done the same with 90 but must not have included it in the uploaded version. Just a fun nod.

Did you like it? It based on Captain Marvel 57 cover. I redraw it and modified its face part a bit.
Oh, I wonder why Google+ page of ComicBookPlus still empty?

I couldn't believe what I find in that blog: Paper dolls, yay! :D
Are there British romance comics here on CB+? Is Star Love in public domain?
I don't know why but black and white comics has different feel from color comics. Sure color comics has its charm but the one I saw from your link really beautiful.
-
The simple answer is, No. But that's because they are difficult to find. There can also be copyright problems and Star Love is from a mainstream publisher so that would be a difficulty. As I said, I'm sure there is another link but it still eludes me. You're correct, b&w can look really good and I enjoy b&w comics.
Glad you enjoyed the examples. Somewhere recently I found info and samples from a classic British romance title, " Romeo" , so I'm off to try to chase it down.
-
Yes I liked your rendition of me the hero. Very cool
-
peedanee, I'm starting a new topic in Comic Talk for romance comics so make your way over there and start posting. Also, it might encourage others to chip in.
-
Well, thank you paw broon. I'll head there right away. :)
