Title: Info request: romance comics with lots of dialogue and few captions
Post by: PantsMasterson on January 15, 2014, 01:48:39 PM
[I accidentally put this in the uploads request forum, but am going to delete that post]

Hi all,

I'm working on a project that involves relettering public-domain comics, and I'm seeking romance comics in particular that have lots of talk, but no narration. The issue I'm having is that most of the romance comics I've found have huge blocks of first-person narration in captions, and moderate dialogue.

For the purposes of my project, I'm looking for the opposite: lots of longer word balloons, and little to no captioning.

I'm hoping somebody here with some knowledge of the wealth of romance comics on offer can help me narrow things down a little. Thanks!

Hello Pants.  Not knowing enough about romance comics, I don't think I can help much and I will leave it to experts on the site to point you in the right direction.  I've had a look at the Spanish romance comics we have but they all have some, occasionally not a lot of, narration.  I get the feeling it will be really difficult to find comics with no text boxes.

Well, Hillman's romances might fit the barrel, at least v2n12, but I haven't released it yet, nor have I even scheduled it for uploading, but you can always check v1n3 and v1n6, already uploaded. The others will follow over the coming months as DCM's Hillman spotlight continues. (The books get uploaded here as well)

I thought I had posted that ACE romances seem to be heavy on dialog
