I'm still finding my way through the site and I was fascinated to see the photo of the comics stand. My kingdom for a time machine.
Anyway this stuff about Rural Home set me off and I dug out my copy of Liberty Comics 12, which carries a Black Hood story and is dated April 1946. The indicia also numbers it as Vol 2, no. 4, published by Green Publishing, Chicago. The indicia is inside front cover. More confusing, to me at any rate, though you all probably know about this, is my copy of Miss Liberty Comic Book. Dated, on the cover, 1945-issue. Although the cover shows a back view of Steel Sterling, the insides are an issue of Shield- Wizard. Don't know which one. The inside front cover shows the contents and tells us - Copyright 1944 Published by Burten Magazine Distributing co, Chicago.
On a vaguer connection, I have a copy of a Canadian coverless comic, (first story - Golden Lad signed Meskin ) and published by Superior Publishers. When I bought this years ago, I also bought from the same table what I thought was another Canadian title _ Bogey Man. Now I realise what I have is a coverless copy of Red Band 1 or 2 (it's the origin story)
Don't know if this is a help, hindrance or just makes me look a bit slow.
