Hi everyone, I'm a writer/artist and publisher of Sci-Fi Almanac, an anthology for science fiction. I was show to your site by one of our writers, who suggested we can use illustrations from the Golden and Silver Age of SF, so I thought I'd come and look around at what you have and offer my friendship/collaboration in return. If anyone is interested in what we do, come visit us at http://scifialmanac.ning.com. Membership is free and you may submit as much PD sci-fi covers and comic strips for publishing as you wish. If you are a writer or artist yourself, we have a free contest, offering free publicity, so you can probably re-publish your beloved PD comic, if it really is 100% cleared off any copyright. We can restore/refine it digitally, or re-trace it entirely, if necessary, and make lots of people happy. The deadline is August 20th each year.

I found the site by doing a Web search for certain Golden Age MLJ comics that I needed to read for an article I wrote several months ago. I've enjoyed being able to read the various Golden Age comics as part of my research. However, there are times--quite a few recently--when I have been unable to download the comics. I get this message:

Error: Your session ID does not match the session ID for this download link. If you are following this link from our site, please report it to the admin.. If you believe this to be in error, please quote the above error and report this to the admin.

At other times I get messages that say I have used up my allotted bandwidth (or allotted amount of something if not bandwidth).

Is this problem in downloading comics normal or is there something I'm doing wrong that is causing this problem?

Newbies are limited to one gig per month. You have only 3 meg left ThomYoung. This will be reset at the start of next month. You could consider becoming a VIP by donating either cash or scans of PD comics that we do not have.

 ::)  Hi there everyone!  I found this site through 'Golden Age Superheroes in Paper' - a really great site with paper models of well, Golden Age Superheroes for those who haven't been there.  I am an artist in the Mid-West though recently I've been leaning more towards crafts projects.  I've been reading comics for about 400 years now and I love the Golden Age JSA.  I was very happy to find the Mary Marvel comics - another favorite character!

Just found a cbz reader for my mobile phone (totally ignorant before that). Then went looking for cbz files on google. Found GAC and love the fact that you are only doing copyright free stuff.

Oh, forgot to ask, how do I download any of them?
I get an error message saying that I've "exceeded the number of files you are allowed ", which is a bit confusing as I've not downloaded anything..

I was perusing Wikipedia and found an old comic book cover and decided to do a google search and here I am. Very cool site. Can't wait until I can start downloading old sci fi comics.

Recently purchased an iPad.  The Marvel and DC comic apps sparked my long long lost interest in comic books.  A little research into "older" comic books on Google led me here!
