Another subject along the lines of my recent thoughts.

Who was the first comic strip character to have a Comic Book with original stories, not strip reprints?

   Due to comic strip reprints in comics, I believe the Phantom was the first masked hero in the comic book format, and he may have been the first to have original stories done.  I read somewhere it could be argued that the first comic-book hero with super-powers was Popeye and I think he had pretty early original stories "all in color for a dime."

All In Color called him the "first arf arf super hereo" You gotta admit taking a dose of spinach and gaining super strength predates Hourman
