Hi, Everyone!

I'm trying to bring together a listing of all the times that the claw has supposedly died in Lev Gleason's original comics.

I've heard accounts of The Ghost Slitting his throat and Daredevil killing him as accounted in the FCBD PS Issue.  So far all I've found is Issue #31 of Daredevil Comics in which The Claw is killed by his original foe by gassing. 


If anyone could tell me the issue numbers, whether I'm wrong on those I've already collected, or any others I've missed, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Sorry just had to respond, I know this may not be related but - I have been thinking of reading a book that has the "purple claw" in it. I actually have a real copy of one of them. Do we have books on this character here? I want to read this book again, I link it to another post on character development.

We might have Purple Claw, but my memories are fuzzy on which books to look in at the moment.

Hi Chaos,

Well, I certainly can't be sure of how many time the Claw was supposed to have died (we don't even have all of the issues available to us to examine yet), but the Ghost does kill him in Daredevil  #16.  Issue #17 continues the story by showing how the Claw is ressurected within the storyline, as opposed to him just being up and around again with no explanation.

And actually, in #31 he's killed by a lightning gun, not the gas.

Hi JoL.,

Not only do we have Purple Claw # 1 & #3 (under Toby, as nobby points out), but also we have issues #10 & #11 of Toby's Tales of Horror which reprint the Purple Claw stories from issues #2 & #3.

So, one way or another, we should have all of the stories with him.  Of course, it'd still be good to have issue #2 of Purple Claw proper on the site, too.  Which one do you have?
