Any of the major companies (DC, Marvel, etc) would have gone belly up with figures like those above in the 10

I haven't followed any sales figures for quite some time but these do seem very, very low.  It will be interesting to see if any of the DC titles that are currently priced at $3.99 pick up in sales when they drop to $2.99 in January.

Certainly sales around here started dropping off when the semi-standard $3.99 price kicked in--that seems to be the price point at which a large number of readers decide the individual comic book just isn't worth it.

Here's some good news for manga fans


Boy I bet American comic book publishers drool when they see sales figures like that!

I really don't follow manga very much but it has been my impression that they tend to give you more bang for your buck regarding story pages per dollar spent and that they tend to go for less fancy packaging and paper as opposed to most American comics.
