Does anyone know who created this character and if Al Plastino drew his first adventure or not?

I thought all I had to do was look up International Hero or check in Jeff Rovin but quickly realised that neither of those gives credits and also that you would have done the same.  Sorry, I know the origin, S/I., powers etc, but not the credits.  Pretty useless, I know, but the question's been sitting there for a couple of days so I thought it'd be getting a bit lonely.  This needs some of the sites serious brains to answer this.

Me too. I should have said I'd checked those sources to begin with.

However, I am expecting some commissioned art from Al Plastino this week, for some reason I think he co-created the character. When I get it, I'll ask him. BTW, he's obviously still doing some works, see www.alplastino.com for more info on him.

Some things will probably never be known, folks.
So many credits, especially writer and creator credits, were never recorded ANYWHERE and, unless someone told Hames or Jerry for the original Who's Who, there is simply no way to establish them.

The answer is "nobody knows."

But the other answer is "probably not Plastino," since he doesn't draw the character until the second issue of Dynamic. One would expect, if he had created it, that he would have drawn the first issue. Yet, this is still just speculation on my part. FYI, the first issue's origin story was drawn by Charles Sultan (& shop).

I am in error. It is the first story, Major Victory, in Dynamic #1 that is by Sultan. I'm trying to do too much too fast with not enough attention paid to details.

It is quite possible that the first Dynamic Man story IS by Plastino and therefore equally possible that he created or co-created him.

Again, I'm sorry for the error. Please, when you DO ask Mr. Plastino about the character, can you do it in a non-leading manner? i.e. "Do you know who created Dynamic Man?" as opposed to "Did YOU create Dynamic Man?" At this point in time, we have so few primary sources that they need to be approached in the manner most likely to elicit the real history. Thanks for considering  this.

Sure.

Incidentally, I re-checked his website and he is NOT listed as a co-creator on Dynamic Man, just an artist. He IS listed as co-creator on the Legion of Super-Heroes (he drew the first interiors).

That's what it says in his Who's Who entry, too. One might expect that he would have claimed some credit for Dynamic Man by now if it were due him. Please let me know what he has to say and again, my apologies for the hasty error.

Might get a clue by looking at another company. There's some notable similarities between Chesler's Dynamic Man and Timely's in Mystic Comics from 1940. Chesler's studio seemed to supply strips for a lot of companies early on and many characters, names and concepts were recycled and appeared at different companies such as Dan Hastings and Lucky Coyne. Possible there's a connection there somewhere?
