Though it has its moments, the indifferent art kind of scuttles this adaptation. The enormous lettering is obtrusive.

I like this more than you, Crash. Despite the large lettering, which does ease back to normal quite soon, I found this art pretty sophisticated for 1942 comic books. YMMV. this MIGHT be L. Bing, who signed a couple of early Andy Panda strips in New Funnies. (|:{>

The artist is George Kerr. He used 'L Bing' as a nom-de-plume on some of his early strips. He was a vintage illustrator who did a lot of work for Dell in the 1940s.
