"Ugga Bugga Boo Ugga Boo Boo Ugga" (see the Hartley story) was a catch phrase on Mel Blanc's radio show, and graduated from there to a song recorded by Spike Jones and His City Slickers (and part-credited to Mel). THE MORE YOU KNOW.

In the "Our Kid Sister" story, photographer Ub Iwerks is a caricature of (and has the same name as) the famous animator who helped create Mickey Mouse. Bob "Wick" Wickersham was an animator who moonlighted as a comic book artist and had worked with Iwerks in the animation industry.
