Unfortunately, rival Dolores finds the book after Katie drops it and tells everyone that Katie has to get her boy friends from a book. Cal figures he's been tricked, so breaks the date. Fortunately, Katie's grandmother is visiting. She just happens to be be friends with the head of a movie studio and gets him to get Katie a date to the dance with Rock Hudson.
