| Good to see Bob Fujitani at his best here. (But, as half-Japanese, how did he manage to caricature the Japanese?) A pity he wasn't given a Black Cat strip. |

The American flag was raised there on 23 February 1945" this book is cover-dated July 1945, which means it was could have been written and drawn by May 1945. So the photograph was already iconic by then. I wonder if this is the first homage use of the image? |
