Look at that game advertised on p. 67! "Bomb Tokyo", the game. That's...even by the standards of World War II American propaganda that's sort of disturbing.

Reminds me of something I'd long forgot...back in the 50s it was common for kids doing cannonball dives into the pool to yell, "Bombs over Tokyo!" Creepy.

I've just gotten to this book. Yup, I saw that "Bomb Tokyo" game. Imagine that: American kids were playing a game sorta like our somewhat current day, "Battle Ship", or "Broadside" or "Dogfight"; while the little Japanese school children were being taught-FOR REAL-how to spear, maim and kill the American invaders, with bamboo spears, should they ever land on the Japanese homeland. Oh my!
