I hadn't read this comic until nen suggested it. Pretty good story. I kind of like the art, too, but it's such an odd mash-up of styles. Under it all is a competent cartoony-realistic 1940s style. But that's overlaid with Al Capp (especially the comic relief characters, drawn in profile with sweat beads and all), Chester Gould (!) on the character Honey Chile, and a few loving swipes of Roy Crane women.
