As a kid, I found Captain Atom's brief run in this comic absolutely magical. In Ditko's hands the character and these stories had a lyrical, other-worldly feel which was never recaptured. |
|
Someone gave this issue an undeserved low rating. This is the first Captain Atom. I has art by Ditko.
I still have all of the original Space Adventures issues, even the one or 2 with Mastroserio art instead of Ditko. I haven't kept a lot of my old comic books. |
|
Awesome comic (the entire series, actually) and the introduction of Capt Atom makes it just about perfect! Thank you for the upload! |
|
The blue version of Cap's costume is pretty cool. I actually like it better than the final yellow/red color scheme. |

Read this on Jerry V's recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The first story was a bit bland but then suddenly you are whacked in the face by Steve Ditko's art on Captain Atom - amazing (though I can't help asking why Atom's radioactive head didn't need covering)
Enjoyed the third story too - the Kukons looked like they'd escaped from an old episode of Doctor Who |
