| First time I learned of the existence of this particular comic book, live and learn? Actually its very very informative and we should be aware of man-made and natural disasters. F.E.M.A. courses are free and a must! Most of the states of the union face disasters ranging from earthquakes in California to floods in the east coast like Pennsylvania as well as hurricanes in Florida, the Carolinas and Texas near the Gulf of Mexico, to tornadoes and electrical storms, etc. Be prepared! |

| What the heck did Al Capp have to do with this? Li'l Abner is on the cover, but that's it. |

| That's a good question. I didn't know so went and looked for an answer. Here it is, 'Like many cartoonists, Capp made extensive use of assistants (notably Andy Amato, Harvey Curtis, Walter Johnson and Frank Frazetta). During the extended peak of the strip, the workload grew to include advertising, merchandising, promotional work, public service comics and other specialty work—in addition to the regular six dailies and one Sunday strip per week. From the early 1940s to the late 1950s, there were scores of Sunday strip-style magazine ads for Cream of Wheat using the Abner characters, and in the 1950s, Fearless Fosdick became a spokesman for Wildroot Cream-Oil hair tonic in a series of daily strip-style print ads. The characters also sold chainsaws, underwear, ties, detergent, candy, soft drinks—including a licensed version of Capp's moonshine creation, Kickapoo Joy Juice—and General Electric and Procter & Gamble products, all requiring special artwork. | The roster of talent on the books from this company suggest there may be some involvement by Capp's third brother, the one who ran Toby Press. The art in the previous book about civil defense seems to be by Leonard Starr. I see some resemblance here, but not enough to say it is by him. It could easily be Alex Kotzky with some of the Johnstone and Cushing guys. |

| 1) AIR BURST | Detonation of explosive ordnance (nuclear or other) in the air. For nuclear bombs this means high enough in the air so that the fireball does not reach the ground. |
| 2) ALPHA PARTICLES | Positively charged particles emitted by some radioactive materials. They are dangerous only if ingested, inhaled, or by other means enter the body. |
| 3) AREA TARGET | A target covering a considerable space, as distinct from a point target. |
| 4) ATOMIC BOMB OR WEAPON | A device which utilizes fission reactions to obtain energy for destructive purposes. |
| 5) BETA PARTICLES | Negatively charged radiation particles that are hazardous to the body, both externally and internally. |
| 6) BIOLOGICAL WARFARE (BW) | The use of living organisms or their products to cause death, disability, or damage in man, animals, and crops. |
