| This second issue of YKC continues the high quality of art and story that were in the first issue. And they're still all detective/crime stories, although a couple are humorous detectives instead of serious detectives.
And this has to be the first use of the name "Dr. Doom"! |

| There are earlier appearances of doctors with the surname Doom. Fox Features' SCIENCE COMICS #1 (Feb 1940) has a fiendish character named Dr. Doom ("his greatest achievement, a powerful chemical that will reduce humans to the size of molecules..."). A good Dr. Doom assists a hero named The Echo in Chesler's YANKEE COMICS #1 (Sep 1941). None of these, however, commanded the staying power of the arch enemy of the Fantastic Four. |
