| I really enjoyed this comic book. It's bookended by two Phantom Lady stories, and also includes an action comic in which crooks are killing FBI agents, and a non-fiction comic about how Pulitzer and his newspaper got the public involved in raising money for the platform on which the Status of Liberty stands. There was also a short story, though I didn't read that one. A good format for a comic book. I've read the first two books now and will be reading the others. |

| Interesting story on the Statue of Liberty! I wonder if the series on freedom of the press that ran in this comic didn't have something to do with the comics code campaign that may by then have been underway?
Fun trivia fact: the poem by Emma Lazarus welcoming immigrants was not an original part of the statue at the time it was installed--it was actually tacked on years or decades later! In many peoples minds, it changed the original intended meaning of the statue! |
