| As much as I love pre-code horror, I can't say I was real impressed with this one. The art was good, I always like what the Iger studio put out there, so it wasn't that - the first story, "Eyes Of Akbar", is one I saw reprinted in a '60s black and white magazine, it was nice to see it here in color. This was the highlight of the book, with eyeless mummy Akbar's klutziness being his downfall - read Robert Crumb's "Eyeball Antics" after this one for that extra little something. After this, the comic just sort of - runs out of gas. "Bloody Mary", "Tee Off A Tomb!", and the oft-reprinted "One Very Wide Coffin" didn't really do it for me - this is one I look at as a fluke - I usually go for pretty much anything by Iger's crew. Oh, well, better luck next time - and I'm sure there WILL be! |

| Aw, this is just the best. As good-bad as you can get. "One Very Wide Coffin" is worth the price of admission all by itself, as politically incorrect and so-very-wrongheaded as you are likely to get! Woo hoo! Superb scan, too! Thanks for the upload! |
