The ritual, held during an eclipse, is intended to keep the Aztecs away. The ritual fails to do so, and the descendants of the original Aztecs that rocketed away return with weapons powerful enough to challenge the modern 'white men'. They have lived on Vulcan, a planet closer to the Sun, and are resistant to heat. |
