I don't remember this magazine. It's obviously a knock-off of "Famous Monsters." Published here in the LA area, I see. I recognize only one name, Jim Harmon, pioneer nostalgist and researcher, listed as an advisor. Anyone know the story?

If you Google Ron Haydock, you'll get a whole bunch of information. Ron was a longtime fan, writer of hack fiction under various pseudonyms (he wrote for Warren under one), as well as a rockabilly recording artist(!). A friend of Don Glut's, his is quite a story.

As a kid in the 60s, I used to find these scattered here and there and let me tell you, they were a real treat! They were very hard to locate but were a welcome addition to my monthly FMoF fix! Now I can finally read the ones I missed on the magazine rack ! Thank you so very much for making these available!

Regarding the credits: Bob Burns, next to Forry Ackerman, is one of the foremost collectors of fantasy movie memorabilia. He often played a gorilla in comedies and television shows. Paul Blaisdell designed monster costumes and props for many AIP and Corman film productions in the Fifties. This was their attempt to do a monster magazine that was a little more scholarly than Famous Monsters. The magazine did well until a fire destroyed their production facilities.

Paul Blaisdell is "Count Downe" on page 64. Also, if you're curious about the short film "The Cliff Monster" advertised in this issue, it's been uploaded to YouTube.
