Dan and Tipi overhear the plan and escape via canoe, closely pursued by Bannis and British troops. Dan breaches the river gauntlet and his canoe goes over a waterfall. Both he and Tipi survive and travel on. A week later at Saratoga the American forces ambush the British and Dan fights Bannis until the traitor is unconscious. |
