The last Christmas number of the long-running story paper. I hope to fill the gaps in the CB+ inventory for The Champion through to its last issue in March 1955, when it was merged into the Tiger comic. Enjoy here a Colwyn Dane Christmas story by Mark Grimshaw, a publisher's "house name," and a further installment of the serial soccer yarn The Come-Back Centre-Forward by John Marshall ... who was Frank S. Pepper, first script writer for Roy of the Rovers strip, another (and famous) UK soccer strip that fronted Tiger, and eventually led to its own weekly comic and a daily newspaper strip.
