Here I believe, in 1961, we have Steve Ditko amusing himself by doing a Hitler cover. That's just got to be Hitler that's running away from Konga. [You can just make out the mustache.]
Cheers! |

If it wasn't for the uniform, someone might think it was J. Jonah Jameson. ;-)
"Konga is a menace! Parker where are those pictures of Konga!" |

Originally I'd speculated about what this cover has to do with WWI and Hitler. Then I realized the cover is a reprint of the splash page from Konga #1. The figure was NOT Hitler and there were four other figures fleeing Konga, which have been removed for #4. The editor apparently dreamed up the Hitler connection and had the art redrawn. I don't know why...the original page would have made a splendid cover as it was. |

Meanwhile Bob and Sandra learn where Konga is and head to the island with a formula for "shrinking" him back to normal size. As they arrive, the island is invaded by nazis who accidently take the serum and shrink to the size of insects, just as Konga destroys a u-boat containing a very alive Adolf Hitler. |
