Based on the 1950-57 NBC Show "Zoo Parade" featuring Marlin Perkins, director of the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, and later director of the St. Louis Zoo. Perkins (1905-1986) is best known for his later series "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom."
