I'm surprised that the GCD lists this issue as DAREDEVIL COMICS when the indicia and the cover both say DAREDEVIL BATTLES HITLER.
I know that it becomes DAREDEVIL COMICS with issue 2, so arguably the first issue is unofficially DAREDEVIL COMICS No. 1. But the GCD doesn't usually treat magazine titles in that way, choosing instead to sick with the cold hard facts. |

So many people died in WWII, and the the sad thing is it was a war that could have been avoided! |
|
I just found about Daredevil comics, and this site. I love it! The good old days of comics! Too bad Daeredevil did not get Hitler on this one! |
|
Amazing comic! And when you think that this was made during the war, it feels more amazing. |

I have to admit that I've always been curious about this cover. Hitler's face looks like a photo paste-up, but... just look at that expression. It seems really unlikely that they'd be able to find a genuine photo of Hitler with that expression. So what then is going on there, exactly? Posed "Hitler impersonator"? A genuine photo creatively altered using a little airbrushing? It really is baffling to me. |
