I looked at this cover and thought it was very Wally Wood. Then I saw that it was an homage to the cover of The Spirit. Yep! those Spirit in Space stories were Wally wood!

Strong Bow and his tribesmen discover a spaceship inside the pyramid that takes Strong Bow to Mercury, where he is captured by Axar. Breaking free, he rescues Princess Karna who has not aged due to the atmosphere of Mercury.
