| Very weird: in the second story, all of the dialogue in the balloons is also inside quotation marks! It's like they gave a script to the letterer but forgot to tell him to just put in the words! |

| That is funny, Dwilt. Maybe the letterer started out in 1890's comic strips, where they did that sort of thing. |

Lily’s mother advises her to elope with Tod and they do, but her father interrupts the ceremony. Fred hits Tod and Lily throws a paperweight at her father, injuring him. When Fred wakes up, his wife is there and she castigates him for ruining Lily’s life. Fred says “that blow on my head knocked some sense into it” and gives Tod and Lily his blessing. They are married right away. |

| Synopsis | Margot is informally engaged to Ned but is “not ready to get married yet.” Margot is attracted to handsome Drake, a client of the employment agency where she works, and breaks a date with Ned to go out with him. Margot lets Drake stay at her apartment (while she stays with her sister), and buys him a new suit for a job interview. Margot is evicted and loses her job because of Drake. Ned hires her as his secretary and when Drake shows up and demands money, threatening to tell Ned that he spent the night at her apartment, Ned punches him. Ned says he still loves Margot. |
