| LAWMAN isn’t just one of the finest western TV series of all time, it’s one of the finest series all around. A shame that the comic doesn’t even come close to matching or respecting that. Art looks very sloppy and amateurish, rushed without regard to any detail or conviction. Characters resemble their TV actor counterparts only if you toss your reading glasses away. Stories trite, dialog even worse. In short, watch the show and just collect these issues for their cool photo covers. |

| Well, we will just have to agree to disagree.
The Artist here is Dan Speigle, one of Dell's best and one of the Dell artists [ Russ Manning was another] who revitalized my attention in comics in my Teenage days.
Please remember that these artists and writers weren't paid huge amounts of money and some did substandard work, but definitely not Speigle. This is beautiful work and shows a love of the assignment and the West and great technique. And I say that as someone trained as a visual artist. Writer was Gaylord Du Bois who was also no slouch.
And thank you for drawing my attention to it.
Not all artists work in the Neal Adams 'realism' style, Many artists - particularly in the Golden Age developed very distinctive and unique personal styles, |

| This is a lovely comic, as is the rest of the run. Prior to this series there were 2 issues of Lawman in the Four Color run. Actually, I think Overstreet wrongly listed Toth art in this issue, but I could be mistaken.
I've never seen the tv show but I have these books in my collection and they are great entertainment.
Many Four Colour westerns are well done and I heartily recommend them. Sorry Professor Echo, I have to disagree with you.
