| Okay, I gave this a high '9' rating, because I really enjoyed the weirdly awful artwork contained herein. Matt Fox's 'The Hand of Glory' has a gloriously ham-fisted Basil Wolverton quality, and how many horror stories have you read that featured Hands of Glory? I can only think of one: 'Hellboy - Box of Evil'. Vince Napoli's awesomely grotesque forced perspective of the splash panel to 'Spider Hider' (page 26) almost popped my eyeballs out, while the story was nicely sickening! And while Harry Harrison's art on 'The Screaming Skull' was the most vanilla of the bunch, the story redeemed itself with THE world's most gormless detectives at it's conclusion (Yup, those tooth marks on the victim's throat that EXACTLY match that skull left on his chest sure has ME baffled, too!). Anyhoo - MANY thanks for sharing this gem, tilliban - Cheers! |

| For those unaware. This continues from Youthful's Beware #12. In 17 issues this magazine was originally titled Captain Science for 7 issues, then Fantastic for 2, then Beware for 3 and then, finally, Chilling Tales for 5 issues. Must have been confusing for those wanting to buy at the time! |
