Notes | Memling script from reprint. In Best of the West (AC, 1998 series) #6 Dick Ayers explained: "Ernie [Bache] worked on "No Law in Little Bend" and also on "He Who Laughs." "Laughs" was done in November 1953 and was the last Ghost Rider I had Ernie work on. ... Incidently I lettered first ... pencilled ... then outlined my pencils in ink ... and then Ernie finished the art." Last appearance of Ghost Rider in Magazine Enterprises. In this story his skull-like features are altered, adding an outline of a mouth and nose, almost certainly in compliance with the Comics Code Authority. The Ghost Rider feature is replaced in the next issue by the Presto Kid. A new version of The Ghost Rider, again drawn by Dick Ayers, returns in Marvel's Ghost Rider # 1, February 1967. |
