Big Jim sends some thugs to abduct Jeff but Alice calls the police. Jeff is rescued and gets his job back after writing a big story about it.

SynopsisAfter his wife Nelda dies in a car accident, Michael weds Loretta on the rebound. However, Michael constantly compares Loretta to Nelda, unfavorably. Loretta decides to leave him, and tells her story to Sue, Nelda’s sister. Sue explains that Nelda only married Michael for his money, and was going to leave him for another, richer man but died before she could carry out her plan. Loretta refuses to destroy Michael’s illusions about his first wife. But Michael overheard Sue telling the truth about Nelda, and apologizes to Loretta for his insensitivity to her feelings. They reconcile.

When Hollywood tries to lure him back, Laura hides the messages. Mark eventually finds out and decides to return to writing films for the money. Mark changes his mind, since he can’t face leaving Laura or giving up his newfound creative freedom. His play is a success and attracts a big Broadway producer.

SynopsisMarie is divorced and has a five-year-old son. She falls in love with engineer Ralph, but Johnny doesn’t want a “new daddy,” and so Marie says she can’t see Ralph anymore. One day Johnny falls into a construction pit; when he’s rescued by Ralph, Johnny calls him “Daddy.” Now Marie can marry Ralph and they’ll form a new family.
