SynopsisUpset when her ex-boyfriend Herb marries another, Anise wanders into the woods and stumbles upon a cabin where Les lies ill. She helps nurse him back to health. He says he became a hermit after the war. Les falls in love with Anise and regains his will to live. Anise is still unsure of how she feels, especially when she learns Herb's wife has died. Herb returns and is reunited with Anise, but he says he's not interested in marriage: "I've been through that once!" Anise returns to Les and he takes her back.

Joyce discovers restaurant cashier Irene is stealing money but doesn’t tell Ken. Ken is fired by the head office because of the missing cash. David returns and asks Joyce to marry him, and then she tells Ken about the thefts. David breaks up with Joyce again because she was “dishonest and untrustworthy.” Joyce helps Ken clear his name and get his job back so he can marry Mary, but she’s left alone.
