When Dennis stands her up due to work issues, Gale attends the country club dance with Nicky and goes to a roadhouse with “sort of a bad reputation” with him afterwards. Nicky takes Gale upstairs and makes a pass at her, but Dennis breaks in and saves her virtue. Dennis says he didn’t realize Gale needed “a little wholesome fun” and gives her an engagement ring on her 18th birthday. |
