| I'll probably anger people by saying this, but I'm not that fond of the Simon & Kirby romance comics. Kirby's art (and imitators like Mort Meskin here) just doesn't seem to "fit" a "straight" romance story with no physical action. |

| I'm probably as big a Kirby fan as you are likely to run into and you are never going to anger me by expressing your honest opinion.
That said - Mort Meskin was obviously influenced by Kirby as in some way nearly every comic book artist has been, but it's doing him a disservice to call him a mere Kirby imitator.
- The inker here appears to be George Roussos, who at his worst, was very heavy handed and destroyed detail in the art.
- you will notice that the 'additional information lists Natalie Krigstein (http://womenincomics.wikia.com/wiki/Natalie_Krigstein ) as the writer. A writer can sometimes restrict the artist as to what he can depict visually and this may be the case here. I agree with you that this story is not exactly first class and the above may be some of the reasons why.

Bear in mind that Simon and Kirby pioneered the Romance genre, so everyone doing romance comics was learning from them.
