NotesFrom a Kiplinger's article from December 1949. This comic book is: "a new scheme to promote the free enterprise system" and uses "the comic -book technique to tell workers about the American business system...This is one comic that will not be found on newsstands. Companies which buy it can have it mailed directly to the homes of employes [sic], where it reaches the worker's entire family."

Do a Google search on "Steve Merritt" + comic and you'll see a link to a Kiplinger's article from December 1949. This comic book is "a new scheme to promote the free enterprise system" and uses "the comic -book technique to tell workers about the American business system...This is one comic that will not be found on newsstands. Companies which buy it can have it mailed directly to the homes of employes [sic], where it reaches the worker's entire family." Surprising to see a Boody Rogers story in here as well!

Very interesting. Half the time the art looks like Leonard Starr and half the time like Dan Barry. Nice work in any event. I wonder if Steve Merritt is related to Cliff Merritt, who promoted the railroading union in the 60s.
