But Fury proves elusive, and Plume's father warns him that alone, he may be the target of white men, and if killed it could lead to a war. Sure enough, a couple of angry cowboys take shots at him, wounding him and scaring off his horse. But Fury arrives and shows Plume a hidden watering hole known only the the wild horses, saving his life. In return, Eagle Plume considers Fury his "brother" and gives up the hunt. |

But the colt has violent tendencies, attacking his mother, other horses, and finally challenging Fury for leadership of the herd. When the Colt is injured falling against a rock in a stream, Fury is concerned. But after they both emerge safely from the water, Fury lets it be known that it's too late for forgiveness-- and his "son" is BANISHED from the herd. |
