Some really weird art in this issue. "Moll Malloy" isn't actually good, but it isn't the regular Fox-type art (artist is Dick Rockwell, nephew of Norman Rockwell and a long-time assistant to Milt Caniff). The second story is by one of Fox's usual gang of marginally-talented artists and--another Fox trademark--is about 80% captions and dialogue balloons and 20% drawings. The third story is just rather poor overall.

I am going to respectfully offer an alternative opinion. If Bronco Moll is by Dick Rockwell he had talent and its a shame he didn't step out and do more work on his own. Yes, its different and idiosyncratic, but you can say that about most of the best artists. Some of the characters in the splash panel remind me of Gene Ha ( also an artist not to everybody's taste.)Panel 4 on page three looks like an Eisner swipe. Wally Wood would have approved. Art on 'Belle of the Badlands' is also idiosyncratic (or stylistic if you prefer) but it works. but mostly I would like to know who wrote the scripts (rough but energetic - someone was having fun and it shows) and green-lighted the title for publication. I love the energy of the book, its much more fun than the average western. In these days of lionizing strong female characters, I'm surprised the book is not better known.
Cheers!

Yeah I'm with AP on this one. The art is just fine, at times even more than that. I especially liked the atypical thin silhouette of the blonde protagonist from the first episode. Most unfortunately, all of the art in this comic book was savagely murdered by the writing/editing team. Whoever came up with the grand idea that text has to take up 60 to 80% of space on a page deserves to be stripped, india-inked and feathered all over, then left in the middle of the desert to reflect upon their mistakes

Obvious re-lettering in several dialogue balloons on page 8 and 9 suggests this might have been a reprint?
