Thank you, editor, for this incredible, and very welcome, upgrade for this awesome book!

'The Clock' - oldest and best comic book character' Any truth to this claim? One of the oddest scans i have ever seen. Some pages are clear and obviously photocopied. Others are microfich. In some in some instances, both on the same page! Cheers!

Gorgeous scan overall, perhaps a wee bit on the dark side. Black Condor never looked better and the colours enhance Lou Fine's superb line-work. Alias the Spider by the unique Paul Gustavson looks excellent sans the one unfortunate page. It appears to have some page damage (a clip out?) which was replaced by a poor quality micofiche section. No complaints, just observations and I'm very glad to see this upgraded addition to the repository.

Australian Panther- yep, The Clock was the first masked detective/mystery man character in comic books, first appearing in 1936. Lee Falk's The Phantom beat him by a few months in newspaper comic strips, though. And there were several masked/costumed heroes in pulps and novels, including Zorro and The Scarlet Pimpernel.
   By
Lou Fine, Fred Guardineer, Jack Cole, Paul Gustavson, Al McWilliams, Rube Goldberg! And Vern Henkel and George Brenneraren't slouches either. Plus some good girl art and the bizarre Madam Fatal, the drag queen crimefighter. Golden Age gold.
