I looked at page 13 of this booklet and it says the illustrations are by Al Capp and are copyright 1954, United Feature Syndicate. Here: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Features_Syndicate] it says, "Scripps still maintains copyrights and intellectual property rights," on the United Feature Syndicate stuff. Are you sure this is not still copyrighted?
