NotesSKY HAWK 12 was published by Southdown Press under its Tip-Top Comics brand in November 1955 (estimated). It was the last regular issue of this title (there was a special that came later). This title focussed on airplanes and the pilots that flew them (aeronaut heroes were a popular genre at the time). It appears each issue features stories with two characters (Rory McShane in every issue, the other varying) as well as a “magazine” section of factual material. This issue has RORY McSHANE by Terry Murphy and ROCKET REAGAN, also by Terry Murphy.

Terry Murphy is another of the Australian cartoonists about whom almost nothing is known. He is an artist who favoured aeronautical subjects, including his work on Sky Hawk, and is also identified as having provided at least the art for Avian Tempest when that character dominated the pages of Little Trimmer. He often used ink wash in the initial panels of his stories. His background, and work outside comics, are not known.
