The first few pages of the second story are some kind of miracle, and is the 'electronic eye interspace trans-planter' the first appearance of a transporter device?

I get the strong impression that Manny Stallman drew, or at least pencilled, "The Spawn of the Cat." The GCD says only "Iger Shop."

Once they get to Earth, Lactra reveals her people's true form, a giant Black Widow spider, and proceeds to bite and web up Lance for food.

The vitalizing formula not only makes the tree healthier, but causes it to grow at an astonishing rate. The tree begins to run amok spreading its roots everywhere. Nothing can stop it and finally it consumes the whole planet making Earth look like a giant ball of roots. Some aliens (depicted as purple bug like humanoids) are passing by Earth and are astonished to see the now tree planet heading towards the moon.
