NotesSome people credit Gernsback with originating the term "science fiction". He originated and published Amazing Stories pulp magazine.

Arch villain McFadden was likely based and inspired by Gernsback's rival publisher (and kooky body builder), Bernarr MacFadden, who had manipulated things behind the scenes to cause Gernsback to fail and go into debt, thus allowing MacFadden to seize Amazing Stories.

NotesSilas was an alias of Winsor McCay for Dream of the Rarebit Fiend. His son Robert McCay was a contributor for this magazine so this is probably by him or a repurposed comic strip.
