Grim pre-Code crime comic -- 3 of the 4 stories feature women murderers (the 4th has 2 would-be women killers and 2 would-be men killers, but they're all inept). Once you get past the cover and the gory splash page of the first story there isn't much blood but the characters in these stories are all horrible people, limiting the comic's entertainment value (your opinion may vary).
The second story deals with a bomb placed on an airliner -- there were at least 6 such incidents (mostly for monetary gain, not politics) in real life between 1949 and 1953 (and one in 1955), so this was in the public consciousness at the time.
